Dece Kurniadi is an Islamic Finance consultant, lecturer and trainer. He earned abachelor’s degree in Law from the Indonesian Islamic University, Yogyakarta and master of management degree from University of Indonesia. He also attended Durham Islamic Finance Summer School at 2014, one of prestigious courses in Islamic Finance in the world.
Formerly, he was a banker in Bank Muamalat Indonesia and currently, with his extensive knowledge in bank, he becomes a professional trainer in the several training institute, such as Muamalat Institute, Indonesian Banking Development Institute (LPPI) a central bank owned training institute, and Batasa Tazkia.
Moreover, recently he is appointed as one of “PokJa” members of KEIN (Komite Ekonomi dan Industri Nasional) In academic field, Dece lectures in three universities in Indonesia namely University of Indonesia, State Polytechnic of Jakarta and President University. Besides teaching in local universities, he has ever been invited to give a lecture in Islamic finance in the University College of Bahrain in 2015 and Prince Songkla University, Thailand, 2016.
Related to research and publication, he was a personal assistant to the Director General of Pilgrimage (Hajj & Umra), Ministry of Religion to regulate pilgrimate/Hajj fund management. Further some of his research papers have been published and presented in prestigious events such as: Murabahah Tax Treatment in The Indonesian Islamic Finance (presented in the Roundtable Discussion at IRTI – IDB Event, UKM Malaysia), A Simple Stress Test on Indonesian Islamic Banking Industry (Presented in
IRTI IDB Event in Karthoum, Sudan), The Determinants of Commercial Bank’s Cost Inefficiency : Evidences from ASEAN Banking Market (Presented in IPAFEM at Adam Smith Business School, Glasgow), Pengawasan Lembaga Keuangan Syariah, (Jurnal Hukum dan Bisnis, 2014) and Securitization of Government Sukuk (Durham University, UK 2016).
